LOL…one of the free Discovery Downloads on iTunes is the opening music, the Bach Violin Concerto, and I’m listening to it thinking, “this isn’t right: Snape isn’t talking. Why would I want it even if it is free?” It’s just not the same…..

    SnapeCast Staff,

I had a little trouble getting back into fanfic post DH – mostly because I was bothered by Snape’s depiction in The Prince’s Tale. Here are links to a couple of the first fics I was able to enjoy.

    re: Eileen Prince

Love your podcast. I’m in the process of listening to all of them to become up to date. It’s interesting listening to all the speculation pre-Deathly Hallows.
I think Eileen Prince was, if not overtly abusive like Tobia Snape, not a good mother. Given Snape’s general of hygiene and personality I believe Eileen was extremely neglectful of Snape. These are thing that are primarily taught by the mom in the family unit. Having come from that background (one of the many reasons I love Snape and want him to have a positive future__if only in fan fic or in the fan fic in my head) I know that there’s dance that the man and woman play when they’re in abusive relationship. I think Eileen clearly put Tobia’s needs above Severus’ needs and engaged that antagonism.
    Thanks you again…ll65
