It looks like WB isn’t even trying. Narcissa should be thin, polished, blond, younger, and powerful WITCH. She reminds me an archetypal grandmother who should be gossiping with neighbors and organizing the town meeting, very muggley. There is nothing magical or even special about her.

What is with that light hitting the back ground. There should not be any day light in this room. Very unappealing and lacking in imagination. It is very disappointing to see Spinner’s End depicted like this.

As usual, the filmmakers feel the need to show a different interpretation of the books in the movies. I don’t see how giving Narcissa Rogue hair helps.

Sigh… I miss reading about Snape. Definitely the one character to leave the most lasting impression in recent years. Why doesn’t Rowling publish more about Snape rather than fairy tales? Big letdown to read that most of his adult life was purely dedicated to atonement (heroic, tragically heartwarming, but a letdown) *yawn* Besides an encyclopedia I hope Rowling will publish a Harry Potter prequel!

t look like a drowned person, eerie, otherworldly, more like a dead thing you pull out of the water, but quite alive and bossy. Her hair looks like a chav hairstyle, totally cheap. They all aren
t wearing robes, but we
re used to that
Still, Snape is sitting in his own living room buttoned up to his chin???

There is too much light, and the backdrop is all wrong. The books aren’t described like that in the book. They look like the library in a stately home, well tended and expensive. There should be a wall of old dusty books which looks like the wall of a padded cell and it should give you a claustrophobic feeling. The colours shouldn’t be warm browns, but shades of black and grey. The room should be steeped in shadows, ghosts and memories. It’s much too comfortable and normal.

In a movie there should always be a certain level of artifice, and you should never get the feeling that there are three actors standing around in front of a row of props bought at a second-hand-bookshop. And I bet that there aren’t any rickety chairs, but big comfy armchairs looking like antiquities.

What is it with WB messing up character’s hair? First Tonks, now Narcissa? And I’m still recovering from Tonks’s uncharacteristic look! Well, I’ll tell you one thing: I’m not going to kid myself like last time. I’ve just gotta accept it.

And as for her look, it’s desperate enough, definately. Well, this woman once wanted to play Bellatrix, so I’m wondering how she’ll fair, seeing this picture.

Snape, however looks beautifully snarky! He also looks as young as in the first film. What a change! What a look!

I think they are trying to coordinate Narcissa’s skunky-tresses with Bellatrix’s Bride of Frankenstein hair streak from Order of the Phoenix. Maybe the bright light is from them all standing by Snape’s living room window and it just catches Narcissa…..”Blonde”….just portray her as the author wrote her.

It’s nice to finally get a Spinner’s End picture… but I do agree with what people are saying about Narcissa’s hair (WB, what’s so hard about it?) and I pictured her a little younger. To be fair, though, she could still turn out to be a great actress so we’ll have to wait and see.
Snape and Bellatrix look awesome as usual!

Yeah…what’s with Narcissa’s hair. Platinum blond is white blond, not brown and blond! And what is with the standing? Clearly, the director has not read the book. This was suppose to be that tiny introspective moment that we get to see Snape do something sensitive and caring for someone else (yeah, it is a Malfoy but still…)

I agree with the issue of Narcissa’s hair. How does one read “blonde” and get this skunk-do? And also, she just doesn’t seem to fit into the whole “drowned person” description, but that may just be the way I picture her.
But most importantly, what IS with that light? This is supposed to be a nighttime, candlelit scene. The light should have a yellow tint, not a weird, sunny-day-type blue one. (And even if it was daytime, the curtains would have been closed at this point, wouldn’t they? I guess if you ignore the time of day, the curtains can’t be that important either, right?)
But anyway, Bella looks lovely, and Severus looks just as fabulous as he usually does (though it’s interesting how they kept him wearing his overcoat. I was wondering if he would be a bit more casual, being in his own house and all, but it’s more of an observation than a critique. After all, the coat is adorable; how can you not want to see more of it? =D)
