Breaking Snape news: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be two films both of which will be directed by David Yates. See the full story here.
This is mixed news for Snape fans. Although more film time almost gurantees more Snape, Mr. Yates is also the one who robbed us of our much anticipated graying underpants footage from Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. This news will certainly inspire very much speculation about how much Snape will be in and how much Snape will be left out of the final films.
Shall we start petitioning that the entire second film consist of The Prince’s Tale and Snape’s death scene now?

No time like the present. We did not even get a glimpse of “young Snape”. We were wronged then and We must demand Snapetime……

Yes…we must have much more Snape this time around, Mr. Yates. Also, in my fantasy world, JKR would add a few approved scenes.

Yeah- I’m afraid that the 2 movies will just mean instead of compressing the Prince’s Tale into 45 sec we will get a whole minute and a half…
Perhaps they’ll substitute the whole thing with a quicky glimpse of yougn Snape kissing Lily and telling her she has nice eyes…

We most definitely need to start that petition now – seriously, the earlier the better. We need those Snape scenes!!

TWO movies?
Well, I guess it’s good – because we get to see a lot of Alan (I hope that he doesn’t get too old for the role – otherwise it’s Botox!Snape).
But srsly. TWO movies. They are really milking it. I don’t know if I appove of that…

yes petitioning might be a very good idea…I still remember how disappointed I was a/t the Snape scenes in Order of the Phoenix. The movie as a whole was really good, but I was expecting so much more..not just of Snape, but others too.
I’m not sure if this 2 movie thing is a good idea or not, but I guess – for me – two movies that takes time to explain things fully are better than one movie w/ too little information and scenes that skip around too much.
Well I shouldn’t complain that much though..there are lots of things to worry a/t, but I’m just SO excited for the movies and can’t wait til they come out!!

I think at the very LEAST since our Beloved Potions Master has to meet such an ignominious end, we should get PRIMO screen time. DANGIT!

The more Snape, the better. Although I really hope they leave out the death scene, or at least make it ambiguous whether he died. It’s rather ambiguous in the book. (I believe that he lived.) And yeah, there should have been more Snape in Order of the Phoenix. But we can only hope there will be lots of Snape in Deathly Hallows. :D

I read online that someone on the crew read the script and leaked the news out, The Prince’s Tale WILL be in the movie. No worries. The memories aren’t short, but they are breif. It has Snape and Lily as kids (with no Petunia, but whatever XD), Snape and Lily as teenagers, then adults. It probably won’t show that he loves her, but it is suppose to be very emotional, espically with the memories of Dumbledore and Snape. Hopefully this person is correct.
